PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by enabling detection of knocking in particular cylinder and other cylinders through the output signal from a cylinder inner pressure sensor fixed to particular cylinder thereby performing knocking control approximately same with the case where the sensors are fixed to all cylinders. CONSTITUTION:When applying to V type 6-cylinder engine 1, cylinder inner pressure sensors 3A, 3B are fixed to respective plug seat face of ignition plugs 2b, 2e for third and fourth cylinders in cylinder heads 1A, 1B. The output signal from respective sensor 3A, 3B is fed through charge amplifiers 4A, 4B to knocking signal detecting means 5. Then it is converted into signal G, H corresponding with the degree of knocking in combustion stroke of respective cylinder (#1-#6). Then said signals G, H are fed to decision means 7 to compare the signal level in combustion stroke of third and fourth cylinders with first comparison level while the signal level of other adjoining cylinders with second comparison level thus to decide the degree of knocking. |
