In order to form stripped cable sections from endless cable material, blade holders (12) are arranged on both sides of a cable track (1) and parallel thereto, which blade holders (12) each carry two stripping blades (18 and 19 respectively) as well as a wire blade (22) between them. Both the wire blades (22) and the two stripping blades (18 and 19) can be adjusted independently of one another in the longitudinal direction of the blade holder (12) by means of threaded spindles (29 and 23 respectively). In this case, the wire blade (22) is inserted into a guide rail (14), which is guided in the blade holder (12), while the stripping blades (18 and 19), which are attached to blade shoes (16), are guided in the guide rail. In the adjusted position, the blade shoes (16), the guide rail (14) and the wire blade (22) can be clamped tight. For fitting connectors etc. to cable sections, the device accordingly allows continuously variable adjustment of the stripped wire length at the ends of the cable sections. <IMAGE>
