PURPOSE:To obtain slurry of fine silica powder having excellent storage stability, by compounding fine silica powder, water, a fatty acid or oil or their derivative, a dispersant and an emulsifier. CONSTITUTION:A slurry of fine silica powder is produced by compounding 100pts.wt. of fine silica powder, 25-300pts. of water, 1-200pts. of a fatty acid (salt), oil or fat, and/or their derivative, 0-10pts. of a dispersant and 0-10pts. of an emulsifier, and dispersing the components at a shear rate of 10<2>-10<7>sec<-1>.
