PURPOSE:To suppress the efficiency drop of a system with respect to the occurrence of troubles and to prevent an erroneous operation by providing a flag register, an initializing circuit and a load means. CONSTITUTION:The titled memory device has an initial value connector 1 having initial data, the flag register 3 for holding the state of a memory device unit and the initializing circuit 3 for outputting a load signal with respect to the flag register 2 only when an electric power source is turned on. Only when the electric power source of the memory device unit is turned on, the initial value is loaded in the flag register 2 from the initial value collector 1. The initializing circuit 3 holds the initial value capable of being modified without interrupting the electric power source, and outputs the initial value to the flag register 2. It shows whether the state of the memory device unit is of a primary machine or object one, and said state is so constituted to be variable by instructions of a microprogram.
