PURPOSE:To enable satisfactory transferred images to be obtained with a pressure of about a writing pressure, by a method wherein microcapsules containing a substance capable of softening or dissolving a dye-containing material are incorporated in a transfer layer or are provided in a layer form on a base as an upper layer or a lower layer of the transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:The microcapsules contain a substance capable of softening or dissolving the dye-containing material. A wall material for the microcapsules is a high molecular substance such as gelatine and gum arabic. The above- mentioned substance used as a core material to be encapsulated is, for example, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, phosphoric acid or a plasticizer such as an ester of a ismilar substance. The diameter of the microcapsules is about 1-200mum. To produce the pressure transfer sheet, for example, the microcapsules are dispersed in a coating liquid containing a dye, the resultant material is applied to a base, followed by drying to provide a pressure transfer layer comprising the microcapsules. |
