PURPOSE:To reduce the cost without deteriorating an optical characteristic by interposing a transparent organic compound adhesive agent layer whose refractive index is the same degree as a refractive index of an optical fiber, between a base material and an optical fiber bundle, and between the fiber bundles concerned, and forming them as one body. CONSTITUTION:Plural optical fiber bundles 2 arranged in one cross line and in parallel to an optical axis between two glass plates 3, 3' which have been selected as a transparent base material are formed in one body with the two pieces of glass plates 3, 3' by a transparent organic compound adhesive agent layer 4 which is interposed between the glass plates 3, 3' and plural optical fiber bundles 2, and between plural fiber bundles 2. The organic compound adhesive agent layer 4 must be that which has a refractive index of the same degree as a refractive index of the optical fiber, and an epoxy compound adhesive agent of a one liquid property or a two liquid property, an ultraviolet hardening type adhesive agent, an acryl compound adhesive agent, etc. are suitable, and as for a thickness of an adhesive agent layer of between the optical fiber bundles 0.1-5mu is suitable. This fiber array plate is made without passing through heating, pressure and welding processes, therefore, an optical characteristic as per a design is obtained, and as for the base material, a material such as plate glass will suffice, and it is obtained at a comparatively low cost.
