PURPOSE:To make a titled optical head small in size in both directions, and to utilize effectively the lower space of an objective lens by providing focusing use and tracking use flat coils which are placed in parallel, and a means for generating a common magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:An objective lens 1 is supported so as to be movable in the focusing F direction and the tracking T direction through a repeating member 8, and a free space is formed in the lower part of the lens 1. A flat F use coil 15 and flat T use coils 16, 17 are installed to both faces of a substrate 3, and by generating a magnetic field by a yoke 18 and a magnet 19, the lens 1 is driven. Accordingly, an optical head is made small in size in the F direction and the T direction by giving a magnetic flux in common to the coils which are installed as one body to the parallel plane, and by a small deviation quantity of the F use coil 15 which is placed between the lens 1 and the objective lens can be brought to a driving control greatly and exactly.
