The invention relates to a system 1 for guiding the transverse bar 2 of a shutter. A endless cable 3, integral with the transverse bar 2, moves the ends of the latter, at the same time and in the same direction, between the two terminal housings 4 and 5. Wedging means 30 and 35 make it possible, on the one hand, to tighten the cable 3, and on the other hand, to stabilise the correct initial positioning of the transverse bar 2.
