PURPOSE:To elevate defect properties quantitatively by exciting the surface of a coating layer on the surface of a base material with a hammer equipped with a sensor, detecting a generated acoustic wave by the sensor, and calculating the attenuation factor and natural frequency of the acoustic wave. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the coating layer 12 formed on the surface of the base material 11 is excited with the hammer 15 equipped with the sensor. Its input signal is detected by the hammer 15 and the acoustic wave which is propagated by the excitation in the coating layer 12 and base material 11 attenuates slightly or detours to cause some phenomenon, which is detected by the response-side sensor 14 as an output signal. Then, the input signal and output signal are processed by an FET analyzer 17 through an amplifier 16 to calculate the attenuation factor, neutral frequency, and acoustic speed of the acoustic wave, thereby comparing and evaluating defect properties of the coating layer 12 quantitatively. |
