PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic sheet free from creases without causing its deviation, even after slitting, by pushing down a vertically movable roll, located just before a slitting cutter at the inlet side of metallic sheet, to flatten the sheet having recessed parts or partially elongated parts, etc. just before slitting it. CONSTITUTION:A metallic sheet 2 delivered from a delivery device 1 enter the free rolls 11, 12 of a guide roll device 10. At that time, the sheet 2 having recessed or partially elongated parts, etc. is flattened just before a slitting cutter 4 by operating a handle to push down the vertically movable free roll 12. Then the constant tension of sheet 2 is maintained between the device 1 and the cutter 4, and the sheet 2 is slitted in a stable state. In this way, the sheet 2 is wound up while preventing it from producing creases and also from causing its deviation.
