<p>PURPOSE:To use only one coordinate determining mechanism by applying acoustic pulses from a stylus pen having an electroacoustic transducer to a coordinate reading plate which has a microphone in one end and one acoustic conductor arranged two-dimensionally. CONSTITUTION:One acoustic conductor 3 which is buried between acoustic insulating parts 2 and is formed by bending a material, which transmits easily acoustic pulses, into continuous rectangles is provided on a coordinate reading plate 1, and a microphone 4 which detects acoustic pulses, which are applied from an electroacoustic transducer 7 on a stylus pen 6 to the acoustic conductor 3 when an acoustic transmission pulse voltage 9 is applied from an acoustic pulse voltage generating circuit 5 is provided in one end of the acoustic conductor 3. The time from the generation of the acoustic transmission pulse voltage 9 to the reception of an acoustic reception pulse in the microphone is measured by a propagation delay time detecting circuit 10 and is divided by the sound speed of the acoustic conductor 3 to obtain a propagation distance signal 14, and (x) and (y) coordinates are obtained in consideration of the shape of the acoustic conductor 3.</p> |
