HALFTONE PICTURE SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To obtain a pseudo halftone picture signal with high quality subject to scanning line density conversion from a halftone picture signal by comparing each picture element of the halftone picture signal with that of plural elements of a threshold value matrix so as to obtain a pseudo halftone picture signal for plural picture elements' share. CONSTITUTION:A comparison part 12 compares an intermediate tone picture signal PIX1 inputted through an input part 11 with a threshold value data TH (one element of threshold value matrix) outputted from a ROM part 13 and applies binary coding. A serial/parallel converting part 14 samples a serial pseudo halftone picture signal PIX2 outputted from the comparison part 12 and a proper period and converts it into a parallel pseudo halftone signal PIX3 suitable for the recording system of an external output device. The signal PIX3 is stored once in the part 15 and outputted synchronously to the external output device.
