PURPOSE:Acetylsalicylic acid and substances which cause chemical change of the acid are separated into different layers and the layers are integrated into a preparation to reduce the chemical change or deterioration of acetyl salicylic acid as an anti-imflammatory analgesic with the passage of time. CONSTITUTION:The objective preparation is composed of two layers where acetylsalicylic acid is included in one layer and substances causing chemical change of acetylsalicylic acid such as acetoaminophenone or magnesium stearate are in the other layer, separately. The preparation is usually in the form of tablets. The chamical change of acetylsalicylic acid with the passage of time is extremely reduced and the activity is kept high for a long period of time.
