PURPOSE:To drive an ink jet head by distoration of piezoelectric element, by a method wherein the effect of boosting is maximized by applying the pulse of one half the resonance frequency of piezoelectric transformer to the piezoelectric transformer and said pulse of high voltage is applied to the piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:The titled drive circuit is composed of the piezoelectric transformer 8 boosting the input pulse signal from an input terminal 7, a resistance 9 and a piezoelectric element 3. Among them, the resistance 9 regulates the output pulse voltage of piezoelectric transformer 8 and the piezoelectric element 3 carries out the jet and supply of the ink of ink jet head. For example, if the rezonance frequency of piezoelectric transformer 8 is taken as 22kHz, the application of the pulse of 22-25mus, about one half the frequency thereof, to the piezoelectric transformer 8, the output voltage multiplies about 100 times. The piezoelectric element 3 is distorted by this high tension of applied voltage, ink 4 being jetted and information is recorded on a recording paper 6. Because this circuit does not require a high voltage power source and a switching circuit, its cost is reduced. |
