PURPOSE:To mass product HSV glycoprotein gB in high yield, by integrating a specific plasmid vector with a simple herpesvirus deficient in a tail region obtained by treatment with restriction enzyme SacI. CONSTITUTION:A plasmid vector which contains yeast gene and Escherichia coli gene, and has gene expression adjusting range of inhibitory phosphatase of yeast is integrated under the control of a promoter of the phosphatase with a simple herpesvirus gene deficient in a tail region obtained by treatment with restricted enzyme Sacl, to give a recombinant plasmid. A yeast such as leucine demanding variant, histidine demanding variant, tryptophan demanding variant, etc. is treated with the recombinant plasmid, to give a transformed yeast.
