In a drive assembly for a motor vehicle the cardan universal joint between the output shaft 2' of the power unit block and the drive shaft 4' for the rear wheels is formed by a corrugated pipe 10, which is at the same time the spring of a spring-mass system representing an oscillation damper, the mass of which is formed by the drive shaft 4'.
