GENE TO CODE INSECTICIDAL PROTEIN

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce economically insecticidal polypeptide, by yielding polypeptide having the same activity as that of crystalline protein with insecticidal activity of Bacillus thuringiensis in Escherichia coli in the form of aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:A DNA fragment containing base arrangement to code polypeptide having substantially the same amino acid arrangement as that of crystalline protein having insecticidal activity derived from Bacillus thuringiensis or part of the polypeptide having the same insecticidal activity as that of the protein is separated. Polypeptide having insecticidal activity is produced by using Escherichia coli which contains a plasmid wherein the DNA fragment is inserted into plasmid pBR322, and can produce polypeptide or its part. The polypeptide can be easily separated from the production mold by a conventional procedure.
