A device for the free-standing projection of images accompanied by movement effects has a light source with a rotating, polarised disc positioned in front of the light exit opening, as well as a projection surface which is spatially separate therefrom and on which there is provided an arbitrary image or motif which is provided at the desired movement points with a translucent film surface and a polarised film having different movement motifs.
