The invention describes an arrangement for accommodating livestock such as pigs, cattle, birds and rabbits, in which arrangement the animals are accommodated, preferably in one direction, individually or with several together in rectangular livestock-accommodating containers (pens) which have a ventilating and venting apparatus. In this arrangement, the pens are arranged next to one another and one on top of the other, and the animals do not leave them during breeding and transportation. The essence of the invention is that the pens (1) are sleeping pens which are fixedly arranged next to one another and one above the other such that they form containers (2) which have standard dimensions and can be removed from the barn with the animals. The feed, excrement and walking regions which are assigned to each sleeping pen (1) and have a floor (8) exhibiting gaps can be fixedly incorporated in a substructure (3) in the barn in which the animals are accommodated.
