PURPOSE:To prevent defective sepn., transfer drop-out, toner scattering, etc. by detecting the curling state of a transfer material arising in the stage of the previous image forming process and applying the transfer and sepn. conditions corresponding thereto to the next operation. CONSTITUTION:The position of a selecting pawl 20 is changed and the transfer paper is once stacked on an intermediate tray 41 in the case of multiple or both-side copying. The curling state is detected there by a curling detector 46 and is fed via feed rollers 44 to a passage 45 to an image forming stage. The output signal from the detector 46 is inputted to a high voltage control part 47 by which the discharge state of an electrostatic charger 13 for transfer and an electrostatic charger for sepn. is changed. More specifically, the separability is improved by decreasing the current of the charger, increasing the AC component of the charger 14 and decreasing the DC component thereof when the transfer paper is recessed upward. The transfer drop-out and toner scattering are prevented by increasing the discharge current of the charger 13 when the transfer material is recessed downward. |
