PURPOSE:To prevent the stop of rotation of a roll in a both by excessive pressing force by making the pressing force of a doctor blade on the roll proper to remove a deposit sticking on the surface of the roll. CONSTITUTION:The doctor blade 12 is supported by a support 13 so that it can be moved back and forth, and a worm gear 12a grooved at the upper part of the blade 12 is engaged with a worm wheel 14. The wheel 14 is connected to a reversible motor 16 through a torque sensor 15, and the pressing force of the blade 12 moved forth by the motor 16 on a sink roll 4a is detected as the torque with the sensor 15. This torque is compared with the torque set in the sensor 15, and the motor 16 is stopped.
