An outlet valve (40) is provided for a water container, in particular a hot water container (41) of a kitchen appliance. It has an upper tubular section (43) connected to an aperture of the hot water container (41) and a further, lower tubular section (45) which is movable between two end positions in the common axial direction of the sections, and a closure piece (53) which in the one end position of the lower section (45) exposes the passage through the sections (43, 45) and blocks the throughflow in the other end position. In order to prevent unintentional lateral escape of the hot water between the sections (43, 45) and to simplify the construction of the valve (40), the upper section (43) is connected liquid-tightly to the lower section (45) via at least one bellows-type section (44). <IMAGE>
