Device for reducing the bearing pressure of a fastened self-tensioning safety belt, especially motor-vehicle safety belt, which runs from a fixedly anchored self-tensioning device by way of a deflecting lug to a fixedly anchored lock, in which there is provided a blocking stop which can be applied, in front of a deflecting lug, to the safety belt pulled out counter to the effect of the retracting self-tensioning device. The blocking stop is designed as a spring clip which has spring-loaded clamping jaws receiving the belt between them and which has handles for opening the clamping jaws.
