PURPOSE:To enable a load on the control side to be lessened by reading a prearranged formed using format-designating data and printing data from outside and setting input printing data in a printing data memory based on said format data. CONSTITUTION:MPU 1 stores format data into a memory 4, if said data is inputted from a keyboard 9. Later, if information consisting of format- designating data and printing data is inputted from a printer control unit 21, format data is read from the memory 4 and printing data is set in a column designated by a printing data memory 5 based on said format data, controlling a vertical drive 10 to align a printing line. Then printing data is transferred from the memory 5 to a data printing control section 6 for print output. Consequently, a complicated program to set a format directly is not required on the computer B side, thus reducing the load on the control. |
