<p>The tank vessel (10) is connected to a water source (18) via an inlet valve (12). In the event of fire, the inlet valve (12) opens so that water flows into the lower area of the tank vessel (10) and cools the tank vessel (10) and raises its contents out of the fire zone. The water on which the liquefied gas floats can be discharged again in special cases by an outlet valve (13) arranged in the lower area of the tank vessel. Finally, the safety arrangement serves to completely fill the vessel with liquid in the event of fire in order to prevent inadmissibly high heating of the tank walls in the upper tank area which are not wetted and thus prevent bursting of the tank vessel possibly below the admissible operating pressure. <IMAGE></p> |
