PURPOSE:To obtain the titled wire for preventing uneven copy, etc. of electrostat ic copying machine, by removing surface layer of drawn tungsten wire, and forming blue oxide film composed of W18O49 and W20O58 thereon. CONSTITUTION:Surface layer of drawn tungsten wire is removed by electrolysis or chemical polishing, etc. Next, blue oxide film having compsn. W18O49+W20O58 is formed on the surface. In the tungsten wire, difference between max. and min. diameters in the same section is regulated to <=1.6mu at any parts, and average value of max. and min. diameters in the same section is regulated to <=+ or -1,0mu against a nominal wire diameter at any parts. Thereby, capacity and efficiency of apparatus utilizing corona discharge are improved, and the titled tungsten wire of inexpensive price is obtd.
