PURPOSE:To enable paper to be easily loaded and printed characters to maintain their clearness by providing a structure where a platen is upheld by an elastomer and the elastomer is deformed when a printing frame and the platen are closed together. CONSTITUTION:If a printing frame 5a, 5b is opened upward centering around a shaft 7 and a gap between a printing head 1 and a platen 8 is widened when paper 10 is loaded, it can easily by set in a tractor sprocket 11. Later, the printing frame 5a, 5b are closed fitted to a lower frame 9a, 9b. However, right before the end of closing, an adjuster 18a, 18b contact a guide rod 16a, 16b, pushing the platen 8 down. Thus an elastomer 15a, 15b between the platen 8 and a platen support 14 is compressed into a deformed one. If this compression and shrinkage allowance is preset properly, a prearranged gap (g) can be secured, even if a mounting part between a bracket 6 and the lower frame 9b where loose and subsequently printed characters maintain their clearness for a long time. |
