An apparatus for separating granular filter material, in particular granular activated charcoal, into recyclable and unusable fractions includes a base frame (1), a screen drum (14) rotatably mounted on the base frame for screening the granular filter material, a device (11, 12) for driving the screen drum at a changeable speed of rotation and a device (32-40) for pneumatic withdrawal of the granular filter material from the filter plant and for feeding it to the screen drum. The longitudinal inclination of the screen drum (14) relative to the base frame (1) can be adjusted. The withdrawal of the granular filter material from the filter plant and the feeding of it to the screen drum can be carried out continuously or discontinuously. In this context, the feed rate of filter material to the screen drum and/or the speed of rotation and/or the longitudinal inclination of the screen drum can be matched to each other or adjusted so that a material handling which is as gentle as possible occurs and thus the abrasion losses of granular filter material occurring during screening are minimal. <IMAGE> |
