PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance in a short time, in high yield, by reacting a mixture of aspartic acid, formic acid and acetic anhydride in the presence of various metal oxide, hydroxide or salt under radiation of ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION:The objective substance is produced by reacting a mixture of aspartic acid, formic acid and acetic anhydride at a molar ratio of 1:(1-1.5):(2-2.5) under the radiation of ultrasonic wave of >=10KHz at 20-80 deg.C. The reaction is carried out in the presence of a catalyst selected from the oxide, hydroxide or salt of various metals such as alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, Cu, Zn, Al, Fe, etc. When magnesium acetate is used as the catalyst, its amount is 0.005mol per 1mol of L-aspartic acid.
