PURPOSE:To obtain a steel ingot for enamel having excellent workability and resistance to cause fishscal by deoxidizing and adjusting a molten steel which is decarburized to a prescribed content of C so as to attain the prescribed oxygen content while measuring the free oxygen quantity in a continuous casting tundish then casting continuously such molten steel. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 2 is provided to the tundish contg. the molten steel 4 and is connected to an oxygen probe 1 having a solid electrolyte electrode 3 inserted into the molten steel 4 to constitute an oxygen concn. cell, by which the free oxygen quantity a0 is measured. The molten steel 4 is then cast from a nozzle 8 into a continuous casting mold 5, by which the ingot 6 is obtd. An Al wire for deoxidation is continuously supplied to the molten steel 4. The molten steel is deoxidized and adjusted in such a manner that a0 attains 85-850ppm and (C)Xa0 (the product of the respective % value)<150X10<-6> is obtd. while the quantity a0 is measured in said tundish. The molten steel 4 which is subjected to the deoxidation and adjustment is supplied to the mold 5. The intended cast ingot for enamel having the amt. of the inclusion at which foaming is prevented and hydrogen can be substantially occluded during continuous casting and having excellent workability is thus obtd. |
