PURPOSE:To use normal cut paper as a recording form and to eliminate a color shift by guiding a gripper which grips the recording form to a printing head part, and moving back the printing head and a platen roll when the gripper passes by the nip position between the printing head and platen roll. CONSTITUTION:The recording form 4 gripped at a home position A is rotated and guided in a direction X and the printing head 2 and platen roll 3' slid backward before the gripper 12 arrives at the nip position so that such a gap that the gripper 12 keeps a circular track is left. When the gripper 12 passes by the nip position, the printing head 2 and platen roll 3' come closer to each other across the recording form 4 and an ink donor film 1 to start printing at the same time. This operation is carried out by as many times as colors to make a print speedily without any color shift. The recording form 4 which is printed by as many times as the colors is discharged to a discharge tray 15.
