PURPOSE:To facilitate operation in varying power by operating manually a display member provided to an original platen and indicating the copy range of the original, and moving a lens and a mirror associatively with the movement of the display member, and varying the speed of a scan on the original to display a variable power rate. CONSTITUTION:X-directional and Y-directional display members 40a and 40b, and 41a and 41b which specify the copy range of the original are provided under the original platen 2. The display members 40a and 40b are formed in the same bodies with copy range setting knobs 48a and 48b and racks 43a and 43b. The racks 43a and 43b are moved by a pinion 44 in the opposite directions and also coupled with racks 45a and 45b through gears 46 and 47 to move the display members 41a and 41b in the Y-axial direction, thereby displaying a variable power in the slot 70 of a scale provided on a main body 1. The pinion 44 moves the lens and mirrors which are not shown in a figure associatively with a variable resistance 50 to vary the speed of the scan on the original. Namely, a device whose variable power is varied automatically and continuously by operating the knobs 48a and 48b is obtained easily at low cost.
