PURPOSE:To facilitate control of development characteristics and image characteristics by laminating an insulating resin layer and a conductive surface layer on a conductive base of a developing sleeve provided with a permanent magnet in the inside, and changing the thickness of the insulating resin layer. CONSTITUTION:The developing sleeve 6 made of conductive Al or iron is formed on the outer circumference of a rotary magnetic field generator 9 composed of the plural permanent magnets N, S, and the insulating resin layer 7 made of an acrylate type resin, polycarbonate, or the like is formed on this layer 6, and further, the conductive surface layer 8 is laminated on the layer 7 by vapor deposing a metal, such as Al, Ni, or Cr. The change of the thickness of the layer 7 varies the characteristics of both development and image, thus permitting the controls of the gamma value, image sharpness, and halftone to be facilitated. |
