PURPOSE:To eliminate recording density irregularity generated by surface unevenness, by providing the shape memory alloy, in which a shape was stored, protruded to the side of a recording medium to the back side of a heat generating resistor to enhance the contact property of said resistor with recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A shape memory alloy 8 is provided on a substrate 9 comprising an elastomater but under the part where a heat generating resistor must be provided. An insulating layer 7, a heat insulating layer 6 and a heat generating resistor 3 are laminated onto the upper side of said alloy 8 and a protective layer 5 is provided as an uppermost layer. When this shape memory alloy 8 is heated, the pat of the heat generating resistor 3 is protruded to the side of a recording medium. The recording to heat-sensitive paper is performed by applying a current to the heat generating resistor to heat the same to predetermined recording temp. and contacting said resistor with the heat-sensitive paper. At this time, the shape memory alloy 8 is heated and deformed to a stored shape. The substrate 9 comprising the elastomer is deformed along the movement of the shape memory ally 8 and the heat generating resistor is protruded toward the recording medium.
