PURPOSE:To control easily the meandering of a strip by detecting the load difference, between the work and drive sides, at the deflector roll of a multipass mill and adjusting the roll gap based on the detected results. CONSTITUTION:In case of continuously rolling a strip S between work rolls 1, 2, 3, 4; the difference between the loads of work and drive sides, acting on a deflector roll 5 positioned between the 2nd and 3rd passes, is detected by detectors 6. Successively, the roll gap between the rolls 3, 4 is adjusted based on the detected results of the meandering of strip S, detected by the detectors 6. In this way, the meandering of strip in the rolling passes, is easily controlled. |
