NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R<1>, R<2> are H, alkyl, may form a ring including a binding nitrogen atom). EXAMPLE:(4'R,5'R)-(-)-5,8-Dimethoxy-2,2'-methyl-4',5'-bis(dim-ethylcar bamoyl)-1,3- dioxorane-2'yl-3,4-dihydronaphthalene. USE:An synthetic intermediate of optically active (R)-(-)-2-acetyl-5,8- dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthole-2 which is used as a starting substance of a nonnatural 4-dimethoxyanthracyclin with powerful carcinostatic activity. PREPARATION:The reaction of 2-acethyl-5,8-dimethoxy-3,4-dihydronaphthalene with a trialkoxymethane of the formula: CH(OR<3>)<3> (R<3> is alkyl) is followed by reaction of the product of formula III with an optically active diol of formula IV to give the compound of formula I. |
