A heat resistant pad comprising a plurality of layers of batt mixtures (3) comprising carbon fibers (1) and aromatic polyamide fibers (2) the layers of batt mixtures being superposed and entangled to integrate into a felt-like structure by way of needle punching (4). Such a heat resistant pad has properties of adequate flexibility, wear resistance, impact resistance, frictional coefficient and cushioning, making it particularly suitable for use with rear facibilities of an aluminium extrusion pressing machine. The heat resistant pad may also be coated and impregnated with a silicone resin (6) to improve wear resistance and impact resistance. |
