PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply and accurately input the number of a person on duty or that of a customer, in the totaling processing by an electronic balance, by setting the number of the person on duty or that of the customer, which has been set by a key number, by a card. CONSTITUTION:The name and number of a person on duty are entered in a card and the binary code corresponding to the number is set on the basis of the piercing/non-piercing of a hole. The card can be also used as the name card of the person on duty. A light emitting diode and a phototransistor are provided to the upper and back surfaces of a card reader corresponding to the name hole of the card and the binary code of the number of the person on duty is read on the basis of the reception/non-reception of light. Three-state buffer is connected to each phototransistor. A reading signal is sent to an operation control part from the output side of this buffer and the reading order signal from the operational control pat is inputted. It is checked that the card J of a person on duty was inserted in a card reader I and the operational control part operates the cost of a commodity. |
