PURPOSE:To obtain a rectangular current equivalently by reducing a driving current value supplied from a constant current source to a magnetic head for a prescribed period from the switching time of the direction of the current supplied to the magnetic head or from a time having a prescribed time interval from the switching time of the current direction. CONSTITUTION:NRZ-I modulated data sequences QD, -QD are operated so that a current control gate signal QC formed by a recording/reproducing control circuit 11, e.g., is kept at ON for a prescribed period TD from the changing time of the signal QD. Consequently, a current IC flowing into a main constant current source TR TC2 is reduced for the initial TD period, so that a peak value is dropped at the switching of the current direction even if a damping level is lacked and a current (Il-Ir) flowing into the magnetic head in accor dance with the change of a magnetic field generated from a magnetic head gap part and effectively affecting a recording medium has a rectangular current waveform. |
