Novel substituted 6,7-benzomorphans of the formula wherein R is a 3 to 6 membered saturated heterocyclic ring containing O, N or S as the heteroatoms which is either unsubstituted or substituted by one or more cyclopropyl or C 1-5 alkyl radicals are prepared by reacting 5,9- diethyl-2<SP>1</SP>-hydroxy-6,7-benzomorphan with a mixed acid anhydride of the formula R.CO.O.CO.OR<SP>1</SP> where R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-5 alkyl.</p> |
