PURPOSE:To omit electric and magnetism interruption and to attain optical transmission easily and rapidly without electric/optical conversion and optical/electric conversion by transmitting and receiving a signal through a polarized surface maintaining optical fiber for signal storage by the switching of an optical switch and storing and extracting the signal. CONSTITUTION:Straight polarized light (X mode) which is reflected on the junction surface of a polarizing prism 9, made incident upon the coupled end part of a SPF8 by the side 9d and then made incident upon the SPF8 because of the straight polarized light in the reflected polarized light direction of a polarizing prism 9 is led into the input side terminal 5b of the optical switch 5 by the SPF8. Since the space between the coupled end part of the side 9d of the prism 9 of the SPF8 and the coupled end part of the input side terminal 5b of the optical switch 5 is twisted by 90 deg., the Y mode is formed on the input side terminal 5b and the straight polarized light of the Y mode is made incident upon an SPF10 again through an output side terminal 5d, the SPF8 and the prism 9. Thus, the optical signal is stored in the SPFs 10, 8 under transmission state. At the reading of the signal, the optical switch 5 is turned on, the terminals 5b, 5c are connected each other and the signal is outputted from an output optical fiber 7. |
