SOLAR LIGHT CONDENSING AND TRANSMITTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the melting at the end face of an optical fiber and to make possible the easy condensing and transmission of the solar light by providing a filter in an optical path between the front face of a lens and the light incident end face of the optical fiber and removing wavelength light having the half wavelength of prescribed transmittance or above. CONSTITUTION:The solar light is passed through a filter 1 by which the light of 600-700nm wavelength is selectively transmitted. The transmitted light is condensed and transmitted by a Fresnel lens 2 onto the end face of the optical fiber bundle 5 and the direction of the solar light is tracked by a solar light tracking device 4 coupled to an equatorial telescope. The temp. at the end face of the optical fiber is thereby decreased when the energy density of the condensed solar light is 40mW/cm<2>. The end face is not affected at all at the energy density of 100mW/cm<2> at which the optical fiber end face melts if the filter 1 is not used. The easy condensing and transmission of the solar light are thus made possible.
