PURPOSE:To utilize a tape effectively, to reduce the frequency of replacement of tapes and to improve the working efficiency by controlling the sectors of a cassette type magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:The contents of a module information part 1 are read, the sector Nos. of sectors having the same module name are stored and corresponded data are read successively from the smallest sector No. Then, data are retrieved, used flags having the same module name are reset and said operation is repeated about all the contents of the module information part 1. Then, the data retrieval is executed again, whether the same module name exists or not is checked, and if the existence is detected, the data are deleted. The sector Nos. of the sectors from which the used flags are reset are stored and written successively from the smallest No. After rewinding the tape, the used flag is set up in the block of the module information part 1 having the sequence No. equal to the written sector No. and the module name is written in the block. |
