PURPOSE:To utilize a floppy disk more effectively by forming two index holes on symmetrical positions about the center line of a head access hole. CONSTITUTION:Another index holes 3 is formed on a symmetrical position with an ordinary index hole 2 about the center line A-A' of the head access hole 1. In addition, another write protect notch 5 is formed on a symmetrical position with an ordinary write protect notch 4. Consequently, the floppy disk is symmetrical about the center line A-A'. Even if the disket is inserted upside- down, the disket can be accessed and both the sides can be used as independent disckets under a single-sides DOS (disk operation system).
