PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device and to improve the operability thereof by attaching and detaching only the developing device in the upper part out of two developing devices provided along a latent image carring body to and from the image forming device. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 formed cylindrically with a photosensitive layer is disposed at the approximate center of an electrophotographic copying machine and the freely attachable and detachable developing device 4 is disposed above the drum 4. The stationary developing device 5 is disposed below said device. The device 4 is housed into a developing device attaching chamber 17 which is delineated of walls 23 and 24 and is opened in the upper part to the upper part of a copying machine body 1. A cap 20 is pivotally fitted around a pivotal shaft 21 in the upper aperture of the housing chamber 17 to close the chamber 17. A transparent body 28 is provided to a window 27 provided to the cap 20 and an inside projection 20a at the free end of the cap 20 is electrically engaged with a cap opening/closing means 22. The attachment and detachment of the device 4 from one side of the copying machine are made easy and the size of the copying machine 1 is reduced. |
