PURPOSE:To facilitate masking work and to obtain a sharp painting parting line, in a synthetic resin product having surface to which embossing processing was applied, by forming a strip like flat surface to the boundary part of a non-painting surface and a painting surface at the molding time of the product. CONSTITUTION:When a non-painting surface making the best use of a base color as it is formed to a product 1 such as a bumper or outer panel of a car, a strip like flat surface 4 having no emboss is formed to the boundary part of a non-painting surface 2 and a painting surface in a width W at the molding time of the product 1. In masking painting, a masking tape 5 is adhered to the flat surface 4 so that the edge 5a thereof is allowed to coincide with the side edge 4a of the painting surface 3 of said flat surface 4 and spray painting is applied to form a paint film 6 to the surface of the product 1. If the paint film 6 is dried after the completion of painting and the tape 5 is peeled off from the surface of the product 1, the product 1, to which the paint film 6 equipped with a sharp painting parting line is applied, can be obtained.
