PURPOSE:To execute a communication of an image data by an inexpensive system without being coupled with a facsimile device by reading the image data by a scanner device and storing it in an external device, and thereafter, compressing it and sending it out to a circuit. CONSTITUTION:In case of transmitting an image data, an image data of an original which has been read by a scanner 3 is written in a floppy disk of an external storage device 2 through an input/output port 10, in accordance with an instruction of an image data accumulating program stored in a RAM7, under a control of a microprocessor 6. When read of the image data is completed, the microprocessor 6 controls a MODEM and a network control device of a communication control device 5 through an input/output port 13, calls a switchboard 14, connects a circuit to an object image data communication system 15 or a facsimile device 16, and transmits the image data.
