PURPOSE:To assure accurately immersion of a specimen sucking nozzle in the specimen, by installing an air tube next to the specimen sucking nozzle and detecting the pressure change of compressed air fed into this tube. CONSTITUTION:A specimen sucking nozzle 1 is installed in a pipeting apparatus proper 10 and an air tube 12 whose length is shorter than the nozzle 1 to oppose it. On the other end of the tube 12, compressor 13 for supplying compressed air to this tube and pressure sensor 14 for detecting pressure in the tube are installed. When the nozzle 1 drops down, the air tube 12 drops down accordingly. When the nozzle 1 reaches the specimen level and the end of the tube 12 approoches the level, pressure inside the tube is increased. The pressure sensor 14 detects this pressure change and stops a driving apparatus 18 for controlling the downward travel of the suction tube 1. |
