摘要 <p>VARIABLE GEOMETRY AUTOMATED UNIVERSAL ARRAY A universal array of the type designed for automatic computer aided design of its customizing conductive layer is easily scaled to change the number of devices in the array. The array comprises an inner region having rows which extend in a first direction of uncommitted devices or cells. The cells of each row are powered from a power bus overlying a pathway which extends in the first direction on the array. These rows of cells are spaced apart from each other in a second direction by interleaved first type wiring corridors. The inner region is surrounded by an outer region which includes one or more second type wiring corridors and peripheral cells. Each second type wiring corridor spaces certain of the peripheral cells from the inner region. Each second type corridor includes a pathway, which extends in the second direction, for power buses which connect to cell row power buses. Each second type corridor also includes a wiring roadway spaced from the inner region by the second corridor bus pathway. The wiring roadways are uninterrupted by pathways of row power buses. The second type corridors also include a rank of tunnels. The tunnels of each corridor extend in the first direction and underlie the roadways and have contacts accessible to the conductive layer. Each tunnel has a portion which extends under its second type wiring corridor bus pathway. The extended portion has a contact which is accessible to the conductive layer and which is disposed between the second type wiring corridor power bus pathway and the inner region of the array.</p>
