PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a display cell so as to reduce the size of a large-screen displayer by installing several sets of phosphor trios and corresponding several sets of electrode units facing each other in a box. CONSTITUTION:Several fluorescent display parts consisting of phosphor layers and acting as picture elements, or eight sets of phosphor trios 12 (12a-12h), and eight sets of electrode units 13 (13a-13h) corresponding to the eight sets of phosphor trios 12 are installed in a glass box 11 consisting of a front panel 11A, a back panel 11B and a side plate 11C. The eight sets of phosphor trios 12 each consisting of phosphor layers are formed on the inner surface of the front panel 11A and arranged in two rows each consisting of four sets of phosphor trios 12. Each phosphor trio 12 consists of a red, a green and a blue phosphor layer 14R, 14G and 14B. The electrode units 13 are located on the back panel 11B in such a manner as to face the phosphor trios 12. Because of the above structure, it is possible to reduce the size of the large-screen displayer. |
